Hi, my name is Stephanie Mouser and I am a certified Infant Swimming Resource (ISR) instructor in the Southern Indiana area, right across the river from Louisville, Kentucky. My husband Robert and I have been married 26 years and have three children and one grandchild -with another one on the way; also, as a foster family since 2016, we have had the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of numerous children placed in our home. I attended Indiana University Southeast on a basketball scholarship where I pursued a degree in Elementary Education. After homeschooling our children and coaching thirteen years of high school basketball, I decided to start a new career as an ISR instructor.
When I first observed ISR, I was fascinated as I watched a two-year-old boy demonstrate the aquatic survival skills he had been taught after only a few weeks in the water. It was truly amazing and made such an impact on me that I set out to learn all I could about ISR. I was very impressed with the ISR program and decided to become an instructor so I too could offer these life-saving skills to families in my community. After spending a summer in Florida for an intensive training course, I returned home and began teaching my own classes. To know I am making a difference in the lives of these children and their families is so fulfilling, as there is nothing more rewarding than seeing a young child in the water roll over onto his/her back and float for the very first time!
